Talking Warmouth Fishing

I never new warmouth fish existed until I caught one out of a tiny little run off pond here in Florida. I was fishing for bluegills and I caught my first ever warmouth.

Warmouth

At first I thought.... "what the heck is that"? It had a mouth like a crappie it was chubby but golden and brownish. After looking into it (ie googling it lol) I was finally able to identify that it was in fact a warmouth. Then I read they like crawfish and I was fishing with a trout slayer crawfish bait by Leland lures. Then I read they like to live under cover... I was fishing the edge of some cover....So it all started to make sense lol.

Warmouth also like crickets, worms, and minnows. You can find them in slow moving water, muddy creeks, and swampy areas. They love to hide under vegetation and are in shallower water. There fun to catch so if you find a spot that has them your in for a lot of fun!

Heres a few more images of some i've caught. Ive only found one spot with them so far but i've read about a few others around where I live.

I'll catch ya on the next one. Much love!

Check out my latest post HERE where I fish for catfish and catch a nice 4lb bass.
